A family firm of butchers in Devizes is diversifying to do its bit for customers during the coronavirus emergency.

Walter Rose and Son in Sidmouth Street has not only started offering a free home delivery service it is also selling a lot of goods apart from its usual meat, fish and deli items.

 “We are a fully stocked shop selling; fruit, vegetables, butter, flour, eggs, pasta, milk, tinned vegetables and much more.

“We are working flat out to make sure no one goes without.”

 

Walter Rose & Son are also selling Jersey milk in refillable bottles.

The award-winning family butchers in Devizes has been hit itself by the crisis as much of its business is wholesale to restaurants and pubs across the country.

They are fighting back and want to do their bit for their clientele, many of whom are older and vulnerable to the disease.

The Cook family have been running the butchers shop on Sidmouth Street for forty-four years, and the shop prides itself on being at the heart of the community. Today, brothers Jack and Charlie Cook, head up the business as a local retail and national online and catering butchers.
