Walter Rose and Son Ltd are delighted to announce that we have made it into the final of Butchers Shop of The Year in two categories: South of England’s Butchers Shop of The Year and Innovation of the year for our meat box gifting scheme during the Covid-19 lockdown from March 2020.

International Acclaim with Butchers Shop of the Year

For 26 years, Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards has celebrated innovation and craftsmanship amongst independent butchers in the UK.Both supporting and endorsing their service, skills and quality meat products.

Walter Rose and Son Ltd won the overall competition back in 2016 and were crowned Butchers Shop Of The Year! They’re hoping to get a chance of winning this referred national title once more!

Director of Walter Rose, Jack Cook, said:

“Our 2016 title has served us well and won us national and international acclaim. As overall winners, we were prohibited for entering for three years, but now the time has come for us to seriously compete against the other two finalists in each category.”

Amongst The Finalists with Innovation

For the South of England Butchers Shop of the Year award, Walter Rose and Son Ltd are up against Bevan’s Butchers in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey and Parson’s Nose in Fulham London.

In the Innovation category, they are competing against Parson’s Nose again for their Planet Eat TV initiative and The Ethical Butcher for their 100% Soy-Free Ethical Chicken, both admirable, recently launched initiatives.

The Walter Rose and Son Ltd Meat Box Gifting Scheme saw over £5000 raised to help families facing food poverty. Created to help families with young children aged 0-5 years. Their fleet of refrigerated vans distributed meat boxes to families, free of charge. The scheme was forward paid by local charities, businesses and individuals who could comfortably afford to help others and wanted to help in such difficult times. This scheme is still running now, as the pandemic is far from over and people continue to find themselves in difficult situations.

Working together with our community, we feel that we have really made a real difference, supplying top quality meat produce to those most in need.

The Awards Event

All at Walter Rose and Son Ltd are very much looking forward to the main event. The finalists are all invited to an exclusive awards lunch on Thursday 11th February 2021 at Hilton London Bankside, London where the deserving final winners are announced!
