Barolo Pietrin, Franco Conterno, 2016, 750ml (Italy)

The fruit for conterno`s pietrin is sourced from three different areas; monforte d`alba, novello and castiglione falletto and two different strains of nebbiolo are used; lampia provides the colour and michet provides the concentration. Brilliant grenade red in colour with soft orange notes, it is rich, complex on the nose with floral hints. Rich yet rough, the tannins are kept in check by the freshness.
